Vanartsdalen Lead Huskies to Rout of Mercyhurst
BLOOMSBURG- Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/ Lower Moreland) scored four goals and had one assist and Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/ Lackawanna Trail) scored two goals to lead the Bloomsburg University Field Hockey team to a 7-0 victory on Sunday.
Vanartsdalen put the game out of reach early scoring three of her four goals in the first 14 minutes of the game. Kropa also added a goal in between and the Huskies had a 4-0 lead just 14 minutes into the game.
After Kropa scored her second goal of the game in the 27th minute, Ashley Heckard (Millerstown/ Greenwood) made it 6-0 when she scored less then a minute before halftime.
In the second half Vanartsdalen scored her fourth goal of the game in the 44th minute to make the score 7-0.
Goalies Tracey Hudak (Sweet Valley/ Lake-Lehman), Allison Ziants (Winfield/ Selinsgrove), and Caitlin Koczynski (Langhorne/ Neshaminy) each saw time in goal to earn the shutout
Bloomsburg, now 4-0, will travel to Indiana (PA) on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
